What can I do if LT400 or LT500's speed is slow?¶
Dear Customer,
If the Internet speed is obviously slow when using the Cudy 4G/5G router LT400 or LT500 series, and use the speed test APP to confirm that the Internet speed is indeed low (less than 20Mbps). Please try the following methods below.
-
Check if the SIM card is being throttled by the ISP because the data usage exceeds the limit of data plan?
Please install the SIM card into your phone or other cellular router, and test the speed to check if the SIM card is out of money or exceeds the limit of data plan? Some times, ISP will limit the speed if card usage exceed the data plan. You can also contact the ISP for the reason and solution to the problem. Make sure the SIM card works normally. Then check the speed on the Cudy router. And if the first step doesn't solve your problem, please try the following step 2.
-
Adjust the placement of your router to get a better signal.
Please login to the WEB management page of the router. You can check the signal on the Cellular Status page. Note: This value of RSRP is a negative number, for example, a signal strength of -50 is better than a signal strength of -60. You can try to adjust the placement to get a best signal strength. Then, check if the speed increased?
If step 2 still doesn't take effect, please try the way in step 3.
-
Select the best working band and lock it via the function of Band Lock.
Please insert the SIM card into your phone. If your phone is an android phone, install an APP named Cellular-Pro on your phone. Open the APP, and check the working band as shown below. For example, the working band is B1.
If your phone is an iphone, you can dial 3001#12345# and hit call to enter Field Test mode – this will provide specific details about your 4G/5G connection, as shown below. You can check the working band.
Please install the SIM card back into the router and login to the WEB management page of the router. Go to "General Settings" -- "Cellular" -- "APN" page. Enable the "Band Select" function and choose the working band as the phone , for example: "B1" . Click "Save & Apply", then, check if the speed increased?
If step 3 doesn't solve your problem, please look through step 4, maybe it will help you.
-
Change the TTL of the router.
Please login to the WEB management page of the router. Go to "Advanced Settings" -- "Network" -- "TTL" page. Set the TTL of the router to 65 or 64, as shown below. Click "Save & Apply", then, check if the speed increased?
If all the above measures cannot solve your network speed reduction problem, please contact our technical support team. If the technical support team still cannot solve the relevant issues, you can exercise your rights and require Cudy to fulfill its warranty obligations. Wish this troubleshooting can take effect.
Note:
LT400 or LT500 series are the 4G CAT4 LTE router, the theoretical download rate is 150Mbps. The actual rate is related to signal strength and cell tower configuration. But most phones support 5G or higher CAT, and the theoretical rate is much higher than LT400 or LT500 series. Therefore, it is normal that the actual rate of Phone is higher than LT400 or LT500 series. If that is the reason, and you want to get higher speed. I suggest you buy a higher CAT router, such as CAT12 LT12 or CAT18 LT18 or even 5G router P5 to get higher speed.
